Fragmented City Views
‘Fragmented City Views’ is an ongoing long term project that began in Hong Kong in 2013 and has continued since then in several countries around the world.
The project is concerned with visual deconstruction and reinvention: by exploring the reimagining of geographically distributed cityscape topographies as experienced by travelling through them, and reinventing aspects of them as abstracted but interrelated 2 dimensional sculptural constructs.
It involves capturing still and moving digital images of cities - particularly in the darkened light of night or early morning - later disassembling and deconstructing the linear timeline sequence of events and movement as they occurred, combining their disparate elements with those acquired in other cities, enabling us to reconsider, reimagine, reassemble, reconstruct and codify new visual narratives and alternative perspectives.
